Bellmer is part of what is currently probably the most ambitious joint project in the German paper industry. With the Paper Mill Model, the paper industry is taking the initiative today to achieve the climate goals of tomorrow
„Innovation needs creativity. Creativity meets paper. Paper accompanies us every day. We are shaping the future of paper!“ is how Peter Bekaert, Managing Director of the Paper Mill Model, sums it up. The goal of the digital and real research factory is to build an agile innovation network that encompasses the fields of ICT, bioeconomy,  mechanical engineering and paper technology.

For the first time, this project also breaks down the boundaries between science, customers, suppliers and competitors. The primary goal of all participants is to make the entire industry climate-neutral and fit for the future. This requires fundamentally new approaches to paper production, energy supply and resource management, and all participants are investing together to achieve this. Approximately 80% of the energy demand in the production process is to be saved.

An ambitious goal that calls for a competent network:

1. an advisory board of seven renowned scientific institutes from Germany
2. a shareholders‘ meeting with meanwhile 24 companies from the paper production and supply industry
3. our partners – cooperative support and networking as the basis for holistic solutions and innovative approaches

Production components play an essential role in a sustainable manufacturing process. This is why Bellmer, as a partner, contributes its expertise in these areas to the Paper Mill Model project.
