The paper machine PM1, which specializes in the production of security papers, has been producing with a film press since February. The existing size press was replaced with an investment of €1.9 million. The planning and implementation of this project took place over a period of 12 months. The new film press enables more precise line application and therefore significant improvements in important paper characteristics. In addition to an increase in the quality of the specialty papers, these improvements also lead to the possibility of developing and producing even more sophisticated types of paper. Dirk Hanke, production manager at PM 1, sees the investment as a forward-looking signal with regard to the production of security papers: “With the many years of experience of our team and with the help of new technologies, we want to further expand our market shares and continue to be one of the best security paper manufacturers in the future belong worldwide.” Film Press PM1
In addition, the new film press helps to increase energy efficiency and saves the heat energy of around 400 single-family homes every year. DREWSEN SPEZIALPAPIERE is thus consistently continuing its course towards CO2-neutral paper production. As part of the multi-stage transformation plan, with which 80% of the target should be implemented by 2030, the focus is not only on expanding renewable energies, but also on increasing energy efficiency.
