Winners Loki and Whiskey have been chosen as the retailer’s first cat and dog toy testers, receiving $10,000 each and year-long perks After receiving more than 22,000 applications from cat and dog hopefuls nationwide, PetSmart has announced its first-ever Chief Toy Tester winners for the open cat and dog opportunities. Loki is an 11-month-old rescue cat with a big personality who can’t keep his paws off toys and is passionate about ensuring his feline friends make the purrfect purchase. Whiskey’s canine talents for tricks and toy reviews will have pups nationwide howling for the latest PetSmart treat and toy releases. “After a rigorous nationwide search, we are pleased to announce Loki and Whiskey as PetSmart’s first Chief Toy Testers and the newest team members to our PetSmart pack,” said Will Smith, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at PetSmart. “Both candidates have shown their talent for putting toys and treats through a rigorous evaluation and sharing their passions with others. Like us here at PetSmart, Loki and Whiskey’s parents will do anything for pets, and it shows through these pets’ engaging personalities and joyful outlook on life.” Both Loki and Whiskey come to their roles with keen noses for culinary delights, an eye for the greatest toys on the market and a serious dedication to play. These skills will be critical to helping PetSmart ensure other pets are in the know about the best products and offerings for pets across the country. In addition to toy and treat product deliveries, quarterly salon treatments and celebrity status as a VIP (Very Important Pet) at PetSmart events, both winners will also take home $10,000 for their contribution to PetSmart’s newest Chief Toy Tester program. With their first assignments already underway, pets can expect to see Loki and Whiskey featured throughout PetSmart’s Anything for Cats and Anything for Dogs months, respectively.
