LOS ANGELES , April 25, 2023 (press release) –

Lately, there has been a lot of excitement about artificial intelligence, particularly large language models, such as ChatGPT. Industry Intelligence Inc.'s communications team sat down with company CEO and founder, Rami Ghandour, to talk about how AI harmonizes with his vision to provide relevant market intelligence, as well as some of the pitfalls that businesses might face when navigating this new landscape.

Industry Intelligence: Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Rami. Can you talk to us about this new AI boom and where Industry Intelligence fits in?

Rami Ghandour: Of course. Well, I should start by reminding us that the concept of artificial intelligence is nothing new - it’s been around since the 1950’s. The excitement with AI now is the fact that machines can start being more human in one big aspect, which is language. In other words, you can talk to an AI like you would a person. That's always been the limiter.

For the last 23 years, we've been on this journey to empower people across every business and every sector with the right information at their fingertips: what they want, how they want it, and where they want it. And we’ve done this by connecting the dots for them. Helping people see a better picture, see what’s around the corner, how the pieces come together. That’s what they need to make the best decision possible.

Now, with large language models, technology has finally caught up to the vision I founded the company with all those years ago. We’re seeing AI connecting dots across billions and trillions of parameters at a mind-blowing scale and speed that we could not even imagine just a few years ago.

Industry Intelligence: So, in a world where everyone has access to powerful AI tools, how does Industry Intelligence continue to provide a unique and valuable service?

Ghandour: It’s all about trust. If you put garbage in, you get garbage out. The pitfall of using popular regenerative AI like the public version of ChatGPT is that the dataset behind the AI engine is old, and you also don’t really know where the data are sourced from. That means AI can still get it wrong, and when it comes to businesses making big decisions, like a billion-dollar acquisition, nobody is going to rely on “Well, ChatGPT told me.” Business professionals need to rely on good sources.

When Industry Intelligence applies AI, we use its strength and remove its weakness. We can do that because our focus for over 20 years has been building a pool of clean, relevant data. And not just that, we rely on real, human relationships. We use the feedback and experiences we’ve had talking to clients to really understand their information needs. We know what the most relevant thing is for each client. This is what we do. This is our DNA.

Industry Intelligence: What would you say about businesses rushing to be on the “AI bandwagon”?

Ghandour: To improve with AI, you have to know how to apply it. Some people will think just by having access to something called “AI” that is now the coolest thing in the world, it will give them all the answers. Then, they will eventually start getting some wrong answers and say, “Forget it. This is no good.” And now they’re in an even worse spot.

But for us, AI is perfect. We have always believed in enabling every person to define their own needs in the language they use, not in code. And now, we have the technology to do this in a way we never could before. This same technology that has the potential to kill every business finally solves all our problems.

Industry Intelligence: What’s next for Industry Intelligence? How are we leveraging AI to super-charge our capabilities and add more value for everyone who relies on our service to make their most important decisions?

Ghandour: The beauty of AI is how it can break down barriers to accessing and absorbing information. As we continue to innovate, our AI-powered insights will be more closely tailored to your needs, providing you with an even deeper understanding of market trends and drivers. You will be able to better customize your view, from ground level to bird’s eye level, across every industry. We will eliminate friction to information-sharing across various teams in the same company, no matter what each person’s language or expertise is. We will seamlessly integrate into each business professional’s own workflow, whether the user lives in Salesforce or Microsoft Teams, email or cellphone.

Put simply, nothing is changing our dedication to providing our clients with the vital data that run their businesses; but now we can offer that same high standard of trust, relevance, and personalization in more ways than ever before.
