Unicharm Corporation (CEO & President, Mr. Takahisa Takahara) is pleased to announce that its local subsidiary, DSG International (Thailand) PLC., has obtained the CoC*2 (Chain of Custody) certification for the internationally recognized forest certification system*3, PEFC*1, at its plant in Thailand.

 

*1 PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is a certification program that mutually recognizes forest certification systems from various countries worldwide.

*2 CoC (Chain of Custody) certification is a certification that verifies a facility as a proper processing and distribution point for forest-derived resources sourced from certified forests.

*3 Forest certification systems are established to promote the sustainable utilization and conservation of forest resources.

 

 

Our group has formulated the "Environmental Targets 2030" and set "Helping Prevent Deforestation" as the theme. We are committed to transitioning all our raw materials, such as pulp and tissue, to 100% certified sources by 2030. Additionally, we aim to obtain CoC certification at all our plants that utilize forest-derived resources as raw materials by 2030.

- Taiwan (Greater China): United Charm Co., Ltd.

- South Korea: LG Unicharm Co., Ltd.

- Malaysia: Disposable Soft Goods (M) Sdn. Bhd.

- United States: The Hartz Mountain Corporation

Contributing to the 17 SDGs through obtaining PEFC*1 CoC*2 Certification

Unicharm believes that this act will contribute to the following goal of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations in 2015.
