CIPEL modernizes its PM3 Aiming the production increase, Cipel has just modernized its PM3, installing a new Steel Yankee Dryer and replacing the press frames. The start-up took place in March and was a complete success. The production increase will be possible due to the new Smart Yankee Drying Cylinder – supplied by HERGEN – which is fabricated in carbon steel and features ribbed internal surface, these characteristics allow a greater thermal exchange and, consequently, greater drying efficiency. Both the Yankee Cylinder and the new press frames that were installed are already prepared for a future increase in paper sheet width. In the next step the current press will be replaced by a Suction Press Roll. In addition to increasing the paper dewatering, the new press will also allow the production wider paper sheet, increasing even further the paper production. In 2019, HERGEN had already replaced the MP3 Fourdrinier by a Crescent Former HCF 920. The scope of supply also included the entire approach flow system. For HERGEN it is a great satisfaction to keep participating in the continuous advancement of CIPEL. Our Yankee Dryers manufacturing line presents the capability to produce cylinders with diameters up to 7.320 mm (24 ft) and face length up to 6,500 mm. Therefore, we are now able to attend to any demand from this paper industry segment and definitely have established ourselves in the market as the major supplier of steel Yankee cylinders in Latin America.Greater drying capacity
