Reckitt's #TogetherForHealth campaign will promote health and wellbeing at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, passing out Dettol and Durex packs; campaign will also raise funds for The Hygiene Bank, a UK charity providing access to hygiene products

July 29, 2022 (press release) –

LET’S COME #TOGETHERFORHEALTH
We have been partnering with Together Band for three years, promoting and driving awareness of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). So far, we’ve:

  • Created two live YouTube concerts in Brazil and Mexico, to raise awareness of SDG6. During these concerts, its ambassador network of actors, singers and celebrities reached more than 0.6bn impressions across the two countries.
  • At the same time, we distributed hygiene packs with the help of the Red Cross, to communities in desperate need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Together, we worked to create awareness and access to hygiene as a foundation for health.

And our partnership is only just getting started. This summer, we’re joining forces again to support SDG3: good health and wellbeing. Our campaign - #TogetherForHealth – will see us promoting good health and wellbeing around the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and making a significant donation to a charity that directly supports our fight: to make access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness and nourishment a right, not a privilege.

"RECKITT, DETTOL AND DUREX ARE DELIGHTED TO BE PARTNERING WITH THE BIRMINGHAM 2022 COMMONWEALTH GAMES. DETTOL PRO SOLUTIONS WILL BE DRIVING SUPERIOR EXECUTION THROUGH OUR SCIENTIFIC EXPERTISE, KEEPING VISITORS AND ATHLETES SAFE THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER’S EVENTS. THROUGHOUT THE GAMES, DETTOL AND DUREX PACKS BEING GIVEN TO ATHLETES AND SPECTATORS."

Alice Moore, Global Director Purpose-led Brand Building

"We wanted to go further than activating at just the games itself. So alongside Together Band, we created the #TogetherForHealth campaign to engage its ambassador network to raise awareness of SDG3. At the same time, we designed the campaign to also raise funds for The Hygiene Bank, a UK based charity that works in a similar way to food banks. Established in 2019 in response to a severe gap in UK communities to provide access to hygiene products, its work is strongly aligned to our fight at Reckitt."

#TogetherForHealth will see 40 athletes - past and present - post about the campaign on their own social channels, promoting the importance of SDG3 to a combined audience of more than one million followers.

And that’s not all.

Through a donation of profits from sales of SDG3 TogetherBands during the campaign, and a product donation from Reckitt, the #TogetherForHealth campaign will help at least 100,000 families to access hygiene products this year.
