ISSA Hygieia Network, an ISSA Charities™ signature program dedicated to the advancement and retention of women in the cleaning industry, is hosting a networking and leadership conference sponsored by Maintex and American Paper Converting on August 23 from 9 a.m. – 6:15 p.m. PT in Portland, Oregon. The in-person event is titled Workplace Allies: The Power of Having Someone in Your Corner and will take place at the Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel.

During this conference, Jeffery Tobias Halter, President of YWomen, will host a workshop titled “Engaging ALL Allies: Moving from Awareness to Advocacy,” designed to help attendees create a deeply internalized approach to gender equity with a lens of intersectionality and a sense of urgency that will drive competitive advantage in the workplace and marketplace.

Throughout the day’s conference, allies will gain strategies to better advocate and support employees from every level in the organization, senior leaders will gain insights on how to make their organizations more inclusive for everyone to thrive, and employees will discover how securing mentors, sponsors and peer relationships can help them reach their goals.

Other speakers include Laurie Sewell, President & CEO of Servicon; Gary Phillips, Director of Merchandising at Staples; Deb Mazzuca, Key Account Manager-Service Providers & Tork Solutions at Essity Professional Hygiene North America; Linda Silverman, Executive Chair of the Board of Directors at Maintex and conference facilitator Lydia Work, President at American Paper Converting.
