In 2016 the Spanish National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) reached a conclusion on its investigation into the national incontinence care market. Essity (then SCA) publicly announced the outcome of the investigation in May 2016. In October 2022 the Regional Health Authority in Catalonia, Spain (Servei Català de la Salut), served companies with a lawsuit following the 2016 investigation. Essity is one of the companies mentioned. Essity is reviewing the legal documents related to the lawsuit and will make no further comments at this time.
