The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), the trade association for the U.S. cleaning product supply chain, as a Safer Choice Partner of the Year. EPA’s Safer Choice helps consumers, businesses, and purchasers find products that perform and contain ingredients that are safer for human health and the environment. Throughout 2022, ACI amplified Safer Choice’s messaging, featuring the program in member newsletters, ACI’s 2022 Sustainability Report, an educational webinar and during the Good Housekeeping Discover Cleaning 2022 event. In addition, ACI worked with Safer Choice to create a media kit for the program. “Safer Choice-certified products bring peace of mind to consumers while doing good for the environment,” said Melissa Hockstad, ACI President & CEO. “ACI is proud to share the Safer Choice message and is honored to be recognized as a Partner of the Year.” ACI also enhanced consumer awareness of Safer Choice through regular posts on its social media channels, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The American Cleaning Institute® (ACI – www.cleaninginstitute.org) is the Home of the U.S. Cleaning Products Industry® and represents the $60 billion U.S. cleaning product supply chain. ACI members include the manufacturers and formulators of soaps, detergents, and general cleaning products used in household, commercial, industrial and institutional settings; companies that supply ingredients and finished packaging for these products; and chemical distributors. ACI serves the growth and innovation of the U.S. cleaning products industry by advancing the health and quality of life of people and protecting our planet. ACI achieves this through a continuous commitment to sound science and being a credible voice for the cleaning products industry.
