Terra Global Capital is excited to announce its partnership with CTrees as activity data providers for Verra’s new Consolidated REDD+ Methodology. CTrees announced that, in partnership with Terra Global, it was chosen by Verra to provide jurisdictional activity data for deforestation for use with the new Consolidated REDD+ Methodology. This new methodology aims to utilize the most up-to-date data and technology to increase the accuracy of individual projects’ baselines in their greenhouse gas accounting. Through this partnership, Terra Global and CTrees will provide activity data from Colombia, Guatemala, and the states of Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Pará, and Rondônia in Brazil. Terra Global was motivated to support this new and emerging methodology to leverage its years of experience in the development of technical tools and software to quantify GHG emissions from avoided unplanned deforestation and degradation projects and jurisdictional programs. “Having worked with CTrees in the past, on the Congo Brazzaville jurisdictional REDD+ Program for the Carbon Fund,” states Leslie Durschinger, “it has been a great opportunity to collaborate again on developing high-quality, high-integrity deforestation data for use under the Verra Standard.” For more information on Verra’s new Consolidated REDD+ Methodology, click here.
