Foster initiatives that encourage the creation and strengthening of local businesses in São Mateus and Conceição da Barra, contributing to the generation of work and income. This is the objective of the Call for Ideas and Projects that Suzano, a global reference in the manufacture of bioproducts developed from the cultivation of eucalyptus, launches this Monday (15/8), allocating R$ 4 million to projects that come to be selected. The initiative is part of the Incubation and Acceleration Program for Local Businesses and Entrepreneurs. The registration of projects to claim resources started this Monday (15) and runs until the 16/9.

Suzano's initiative has a partnership with Transforma.ai, an institution specialized in the strategic management of private social investments, local development and environmental education. The objective is to develop ideas and projects from civil society organizations, cooperatives, small companies, individual microentrepreneurs (MEIs) and non-formal organized groups focused on generating work and income.

Supported projects must fall within one of the areas covered: Sustainable Rural Production, Entrepreneurship or Environmental Conservation. When applying, groups should consider projects they are already doing or would like to do in their respective communities. In addition to the financial contribution, the public notice provides for a training cycle in Entrepreneurship and Business Management for representatives of the contemplated initiatives.

The selection of projects will prioritize initiatives that focus on people in situations of social vulnerability, initiatives led by women, young people, residents of traditional communities. The selected projects will have an execution period of up to six months, starting immediately after signing the Term of Participation, scheduled for next October.

The Call for Ideas and Projects is one of Suzano's initiatives that are in line with the company's commitment to help 200,000 people get out of poverty by 2030, in the company's areas of operation. In Brazil, people with a per capita income of less than R$518.00 per month are considered below the poverty line and this is what Suzano wants to help transform.

“We are always seeking to renew our way of producing, consuming, sharing value and promoting social balance. It is this belief that leads us to develop initiatives like this one, in which we seek to offer people conditions so that they can have their own income and better quality of life”, observes Douglas Peixoto, Suzano's Social Development coordinator.
