Solvay announces fifth edition of its Solvay’s Citizen Day, which invites employees to participate causes supported by the company; activities included mentoring programs, educational webcasts

The 5^th edition of Solvay’s Citizen Day saw employees across all sites worldwide take action to create a better future for generations to come.

Citizen Day is an annual Group-wide event designed to reinforce connections between employees with Solvay’s Purpose to ‘bond people, ideas, and elements to reinvent progress’. Each year, Citizen Day is dedicated to a specific topic that the Group strongly believes deserves global action.

This year’s topic focused on celebrating the role Solvay has played in the progress of humankind, with the objective of acknowledging its legacy and recognizing the importance of passing it down for generations to come.

From May 29 to June 2, the Group’s 22,000 employees further contributed to ongoing societal actions and initiated new activities globally related to passing on knowledge, know-how and experience to others. This included:

Mentoring X,000 people through renowned mentoring programs in North America, Europe, China and Brazil;
Hosting various open days in Solvay’s sites worldwide to share the Group’s 160-year heritage with local communities, during which the Group notably highlighted how it reinvented progress by creating solutions enhancing their daily lives, while positively contributing to society.
Hosting a webcast featuring one of the top experts on the chemistry of cooking, Christophe Lavelle, who highlighted the fascinating link between science and cooking, as well as the transmission of this special “chemistry” throughout the generations.
Organizing workshops and games to invite employees to re-discover and celebrate the Group’s major milestones;
