New York's ReSource Waste Services appoints Jack Canty as president, COO and Peter Jerome as CFO; appointments made in anticipation of several upcoming company growth initiatives

ReSource Waste Services (RWS), a leading processor of construction and demolition waste in the New England region, today announced that it is expanding its executive team to lead the Company through an exciting period of growth. Jack Canty has been named President & Chief Operating Officer. Greg Leahey, a co-founder of RWS who previously served in that role, has assumed the role of Chief Strategy Officer and will focus his efforts on growth initiatives. Greg also has joined the Company’s Executive Committee overseeing the RWS enterprise. “ReSource Waste Services has grown significantly in recent years, and we have many projects that are expected to lead to further growth,” said Larry D. Richardson, Chief Executive Officer of ReEnergy Holdings, which has a significant ownership interest in RWS. “It became clear that we needed to optimize the executive leadership of the Company. Jack had already been working with the Company as its Chief Financial Officer and he has a strong record as an executive in the recycling sector. We are pleased that Jack will be stepping into this new role and that Greg will have the opportunity to focus his attention on the Company’s important growth initiatives.” Prior to his new appointment, Canty served as Chief Financial Officer for RWS and ReEnergy Holdings LLC. Among other positions, he previously served as the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer of Weitsman Recycling and as Vice President of Finance of Agway Energy Products. He also operated his own consulting practice for three years that focused on identifying and implementing performance improvement opportunities for his clients. Canty has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Alfred University and is a Certified Public Accountant. Canty will be based in Boston. In a related move, Peter Jerome has been named Chief Financial Officer of RWS and ReEnergy Holdings after serving as the Company’s corporate controller. Prior to his time with the Company, Jerome held a number of senior finance roles, including CFO and Controller, at several bioscience companies in upstate New York and North Carolina. Jerome will be based in ReEnergy Holdings’ corporate office in Albany, NY. The Company’s growth initiatives include the following:

• The RWS facility in Epping, NH recently completed construction of a soils solidification pad and will soon be offering on-site solidification of sediments, semi-solids, and industrial and construction spoils. This service will facilitate the placement or disposal of these materials at permitted landfills within and outside the region.
• In partnership with Charter Environmental Services (Boston, MA), RWS has recently established a transloading facility in Lawrence MA to allow the transfer of containerized soil and waste materials from local trucks to railcars for transport to out-of-region landfills.
• The RWS facility in Lewiston, Maine, which recently completed a significant capital project to incorporate new recycling technology, has begun the process to seek LEED certification from the Recycling Certification Institute (RCI). RCI is an independent third party that will evaluate the facility’s recovery records to determine if they are accurate, verifiable and reasonable. Such certification will benefit Lewiston’s contractor customers who wish to achieve LEED green-building certification for building projects.
• The RWS facilities in Roxbury, MA and Epping, NH will be installing new technology to increase its recycling rates.
• Several RWS sites expect to install solar projects to provide some or all of the sites’ internal energy demand, similar to the behind-the-meter solar project that was installed at the Company’s Epping, NH facility in 2017.
