Valmet will supply a Valmet DNA Automation System to an energy-from-waste (EfW) facility under construction in Essex, the United Kingdom. The order was placed by Hitachi Zosen Inova AG (HZI), which is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor of the facility. This is the nineteenth time that HZI has chosen Valmet’s automation technology for its EfW plant projects. The plant owned by Indaver Rivenhall Ltd. will be started up in 2026. The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the first quarter 2023. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The deliveries will start in March 2024, and the system will be taken over by the customer in March 2026. “Valmet’s proposal is a good match between the solutions offered, project requirements and HZI’s standards. Also, Valmet showed true dedication during final negotiations,” says Walid Elshorbagy, Technical Project Manager, EIC – EfW, HZI. “We have been working with HZI since 2008 and regard them as a strong and growing EPC player in the energy from waste market. We are continuously deepening our cooperation and optimizing project execution,” says Rene Neubert, Sales Director, Automation Systems business line, Valmet. The Rivenhall plant will consist of two incineration lines and a grate boiler, treat up to 595,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year and have a turbine capacity of 50 MW. Valmet will supply a Valmet DNA Automation System to Rivenhall’s energy-from-waste facility that is under construction in Essex, the United Kingdom. Visualization of the facility. Technical information about the delivery Valmet’s delivery consists of a Valmet DNA Automation System including a web-based Valmet DNA User Interface, an information activity server and a boiler safety system with 3,700 hardwired signals and 14,200 gateway signals.
