GUILIN, CHINA, June 30, 2023 – The BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions (ECMS) motorcycle engine lab in Guilin, China, has been granted accreditation for ISO 17025 in the areas of emission and durability tests to meet increasingly stringent emissions regulations. The successful accreditation demonstrates the technical competence and quality management system of the lab. Test reports and certificates for customers now can be accepted from China to other countries without the need for further testing. “BASF’s ECMS motorcycle engine lab in Guilin is a pioneer in its successful accreditation by ISO 17025,” said Qing Wang, Chief Engineer, National Motorcycle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Tianjin). “BASF has always been committed to improving the motorcycle industry with new technology and now, with this certification, BASF is able to deliver more advanced, sustainable and reliable motorcycle catalysts to customers in China and globally.” “This significant milestone reassures customers that we adhere to globally recognized standards and our motorcycle emissions control technologies are reliable, which will unlock more international business opportunities,” said JiaDi Zhang, Director of Environmental Catalysis R&D and Application for ECMS in Asia Pacific. “We continue to invest in the engine lab to further strengthen our position as a leading provider of catalyst technologies to meet increasingly stringent and necessary emission regulations.” ISO 17025 is the widely recognized international standard for testing and calibration laboratories. The motorcycle engine lab in Guilin is the company’s primary location for development and evaluation of motorcycle and general engine emission catalysts to support customers in all regions. The lab provides a broad range of capabilities for verification, aging and durability testing of emissions technologies.
