Rite Aid Offers Mpox Vaccine at Additional Locations in California
CDC recommends vaccination for people who have been exposed to mpox or may be likely to contract mpox

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 18, 2023 – Rite Aid Corporation (OTC: RADCQ) today announced mpox (monkeypox virus) vaccine offerings will now be available at eight additional locations in California in partnership with the California Department of Health (CDPH), which aims to mitigate the spread of the virus in certain areas with high demand for the vaccine. Rite Aid now offers the JYNNEOS vaccine, approved for the prevention of Smallpox and mpox, in 18 locations in California, viewable on Rite Aid’s online scheduler.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends vaccination for people who have been exposed to mpox or who have risk factors for mpox and have not already received two doses of JYNNEOS vaccine. Getting vaccinated before exposure to mpox provides the best chance to prevent disease. For best protection, two doses of JYNNEOS administered 28 days apart are recommended. If a customer has already been exposed, getting vaccinated as soon as possible after exposure to someone with mpox (ideally within four days) may help prevent the disease, or make it less severe.
