FoodStorm, which provides grocery-tailored catering software, announced today that over a dozen additional grocers have signed on to use its SaaS order management system (OMS) to manage their catering and prepared foods offerings. New FoodStorm customers include Fareway Stores, all five Good Food Holdings banners (Bristol Farms, New Seasons Market, Lazy Acres, New Leaf Community Markets and Metropolitan Market), Plum Market, Edward’s Food Giant and Stew Leonard’s. “Throughout our discussions with grocery retailers this year, the theme of a very busy holiday season keeps emerging, with higher demand for holiday catering than ever before. We are extremely excited to be working with these grocers to implement new or enhanced systems so they can realize their business’s full potential during peak season.” Although catering and prepared foods can be among a grocer’s most profitable offerings, most grocers still manage these orders using spreadsheets, paper order forms and sticky notes, or they have a piecemeal digital infrastructure that isn’t scalable or sustainable. Their existing e-commerce, inventory and POS systems don’t support the complexities of catering and prepared foods, including managing departmental production, lead times and in store pickup and delivery. For large grocers, these offerings often extend across multiple store locations, can include items from multiple departments (e.g., deli, bakery, produce, grocery items), and are ordered across multiple channels including online, in store kiosk, or by phone and email. That’s where FoodStorm comes in. The FoodStorm solution covers omni-channel ordering, order management, payment, reporting and integrates easily with a large variety of third-party systems including POS. FoodStorm can provide a catering specific e-commerce website to match the grocer’s brand, order and production management, PCI-compliant payment processing, CRM tools to market and grow their business, and rich reporting features with a live business dashboard. And now as a part of Instacart, FoodStorm is helping power Carrot Order Ahead, enabling retailers to build a comprehensive online catering ordering and delivery experience for both their customers and in-store teams. Earlier this year Stew Leonard’s launched their FoodStorm system and have seen incredible performance. “Since going live with FoodStorm, as a company we’ve increased our orders by 70%. Our first holiday with FoodStorm was a record-breaking Easter, where we saw an increase of 15% of our orders versus last year, which was easily manageable using the FoodStorm resources.” Learn additional details on Stew Leonard’s catering operations, implementation experience and business growth from their recent video case study. FoodStorm is in use at hundreds of sites and is used by grocers, caterers and corporate dining operations around the world.
