Red Leaf Pulp Ltd., developer of a proprietary wheat strawbased pulp mill, announced the Company will be hosting a virtual open house event on January 20, 2022 at 700 pm CST to update the public on the project’s progress. The Company has secured properties on the west side of the City of Regina, within the RM of Sherwood, and will commence construction within the next twelve months. The pulp mill will have the capacity to produce approximately 182,000 tonnes of market pulp annually from wheat straw collected and aggregated from local producers. This represents a $350+ Million direct investment in the local community and is expected to create 130 permanent full-time jobs and 250 jobs during construction. Representatives from Red Leaf Pulp would like to share project information, provide an opportunity to discuss the public’s interests and address questions about the project. Red Leaf Pulp is developing the first non-wood pulp mill in Canada, producing a unique unbleached product demanded by the USD$350 Billion paper and packaging market.
