Paper Excellence BV is seeking buyers for its Domtar pulp mill in Kamloops, British Columbia, and it wants US$400 million for it, BNN Bloomberg reported on March 24 Anonymous sources said Paper Excellence was working with the Bank of Montreal for advice regarding the proposed mill sale. Neither Paper Excellence, Bank of Montreal nor Domtar would provide comments to BNN Bloomberg. Paper Excellence completed its US$3.0B acquisition of Domtar in November 2021. The company agreed with Canadian regulators to sell the Kamloops mill to avoid any anti-trust conflicts. Domtar currently operates as a standalone business and employs about 6,000 people.
