Announcement Concerning Thermal Paper Production Expansion in Germany

This news release is to announce that Oji Imaging Media Co. Ltd. (OIM, President: Kohei Michikawa, Head office: Tokyo), a 100% subsidiary of Oji Holdings Corporation (President: Masatoshi Kaku, Head office: Tokyo), has been managing thermal paper business and has decided to expand the thermal paper production at KANZAN Spezialpapiere GmbH (KANZAN, Germany) which currently produces and sells thermal and inkjet papers in Europe.

１．Objectives of the Production Expansion

The Oji Group aims to further expand the functional materials business including thermal paper business. OIM, as a core company of functional material business, is strengthening to expand business globally. In the thermal paper business, thermal paper has continued to grow worldwide with the advances in e-commerce and the demands for food application, including label market where the demand is expected to grow in the future.

KANZAN, as a leading company of thermal paper in Europe, provides high-value-added services by this expansion of production facilities and following improvement of product quality, responding to future market and customer needs.
