Metsä Board has established a new, centralised Sample Service for its unprinted samples at its Excellence Centre in Äänekoski, Central Finland. Consolidating the service enables a customer order for samples of several mill grades to be shipped together instead of in several shipments, thereby reducing the transport carbon footprint and improving customer experience. “The new setup enables reducing emissions and it also provides good synergy in regard to our packaging development services, with an extensive selection of paperboards available for customer projects in one place”, says Leena Yliniemi, Product Management Director. Simultaneous with the launch of the new Sample Service, we are renewing our sample packaging materials in line with our fossil free targets. Instead of plastic pouches, for example, our A4 samples will from now on be delivered in fibre-based, reusable and recyclable folders. The design of the packaging has been unified to create a cohesive visual look. Metsä Board Sample Service delivers unprinted A4 sheets upon request. In addition, the Sample Service coordinates orders for big sample sheets (size 70 cm x 100 cm). "Paperboard samples are particularly important in early stages of the decision making process, helping customers make the right choices and facilitating decision-making. Customers often compare two or more board grades and their suitability for existing packaging or future development projects,” Yliniemi says. For sample orders please get in touch with your local Metsä Board contact.
The move brings the Sample Service under the same roof as R&D and the Packaging design team, ensuring they have at hand a fresh and complete portfolio of Metsä Board’s paperboards.
