Kruger's Kamloops pulp mill in British Columbia needs roughly 39,000 truckloads of woodchips to produce pulp, but mill is facing a significant gap between what it needs and what their regular long-term suppliers can provide. To counter this shortage, the mill has started working with Rivercity Fibre for their supply. Kruger installed a conveyor belt across the road, which requires about 750,000 cubic meters annually, and has reduced both environmental impact and truck traffic. The facility is now a joint venture with First Nations in the area. This article contains information originally reported by Pulp & Paper Canada.
