The action is provided for by Regulatory Norms for maintenance and necessary adjustments, in order to guarantee the perfect operation of all equipment, as well as the safety and integrity of employees and the entire community. In addition to maintenance, the General Shutdown allows the Unit to undergo eventual improvements, such as technological updates, always with the objective of improving productivity and operational safety, with the adoption of the best practices available in the market. To ensure that all stages are completed quickly and efficiently, Parada Geral relies on prior planning and the support of extra teams, with a significant part of these hired from nearby cities – which represents income generation for Campos Gerais. Klabin informs that, during this maintenance period, people residing near the Unit may notice variations in odor and noise. It is important to emphasize that these alterations do not pose risks to people's health or to the environment. Transparent dialogue with suppliers and the community Recently, all suppliers participated in an alignment meeting on how the General Shutdown works, with details on safety, food, health and transportation. To minimize the impact on highway traffic, the entry time for temporary workers will be different from the shifts practiced by the factory, and it was recommended that contractors prioritize transportation by bus. During the period, the Company will also count on the help of the City Hall to ensure a better flow on the roads.
