January 16, 2024 (press release) –

Ilim Group announced the start of production of the office printer paper under Ilim’s own brand. The paper will be manufactured at the Koryazhma Mill producing high-quality domestic printing paper for over 50 years

Ilim’s office printer paper will include two products. These are Ilim Standard, C-Grade (sizes А4 and А3), the most popular type of paper for many home and office applications, and Ilim Profi (size А4 only), premium paper with higher brightness and basis weight. This paper is intended for double-sided printing using all types of laser or jet printers and copiers. Its base consists of a softwood and hardwood composition.

Fully bleached pulp ensures high brightness and superior color rendering of the paper. Ilim office printer paper is UV-resistant, does not turn yellow and preserves its structure during printing while preventing paper jams. It is designed for high-speed continuous large-volume copying. The paper is certified to meet GOST R 57641, provides for long-term document archiving, and complies with GOST R ISO 9706 (ISO 9706).

Bleaching of pulp for Ilim’s white papers does not depend on imports.

“Chemicals were previously purchased in Scandinavia, but Ilim Group’s Koryazhma Mill embraced the technology keeping the same high bleaching and paper quality”, said Alexey Chernyaev, Senior Vice President, Sales, Supply Chain Management and Packaging at Ilim.

Currently, the Koryazhma Mill produces the widest product range for the domestic market, including premium А+ class paper. During Ilim’s Big Koryazhma investment project with investment exceeding RUB 9 billion, the Mill received one of the most advanced paper machines in Russia with its capacity of over 200 thousand tons per year. The revamp of the Mill made Ilim Group the first and only Russian manufacturer of Omela virgin coated paper for multi-color premium print. Today, Ilim Group’s Koryazhma Mill produces more than 400 thousand tons of white papers, including premium papers, which makes 25% of the Russian segment in the white papers market.
