AV Group, part of Aditya Birla, to idle Terrace Bay pulp mill in Ontario, effective immediately; company says temporary idling of mill's pulp operations, which produce 320,000 tonnes of NBSK pulp, is 'due to prevailing market conditions'

Terrace Bay, Ontario – AV Terrace Bay Inc. announces temporary idling of its pulp operations, with immediate effect, due to prevailing market conditions. The announcement will affect approximately four hundred employees.

The facility, located on the north shore of Lake Superior, produces 320,000 Air Dry Metric Tons of Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft (NBSK) pulp. The mill will be put into a state of warm idle to facilitate a possible future restart.
