Austrocel has restarted production of pulp and bio-ethanol at its mill in Hallein, Germany, after shutting down operations last June to resolve a dangerous gas leak, Euwid reported on April 1. Austrocel’s mill primarily produces dissolving pulp for Chinese markets. The site can produce pulp at a 160,000-tonnes/year capacity. The facility also produces bio-ethanol for OMV, a petroleum company. The company generates electricity at 100 GWh/year. It currently employs 300 workers.
