PapNews Magazine reports that significant upgrades to a press section, including a Shoe Press by Toscotec and several AC motors, have resulted in a 15% increase in continuous machine speed and energy savings at a paper mill. Data analysis was key in facilitating this improvement, allowing the mill's technical team to plan effectively for the process. Among the innovations, a 400kW motor/inverter was cleverly designed to be optimal for spare part use and cost reduction. The team's incorporation of AC drives and film capacitors, instead of the more commonly used electrolytic ones, further enhanced the efficiency of the operation.
