Coated and uncoated woodfree paper manufacturers in Germany are expected to attempt to increase prices this autumn on an anticipated seasonal upturn in demand, reported Euwid on July 9.
Coated woodfree paper prices have been declining for some time but demand has not decreased further so far this year, according to suppliers, who are optimistic about being able to implement a fall price hike.
Markups are expected on uncoated woodfree papers for September or October, and industry suppliers appear to be standing firm against offering summer discounts, Euwid reported.
Attempts to raise uncoated woodfree paper prices this past spring were not too successful, but producers are describing their current mill capacity utilization rates as good.
