Rhode Island signs into law legislation than bans sale of e-cigarettes to minors

Gov. Lincoln Chafee has signed legislation that bans the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.
The legislation also prohibits use of the devices in Rhode Island by anyone under 18.
It requires stores where e-cigarettes are sold to post new signs that list the prohibition not only for cigarettes and tobacco but also for "electronic nicotine delivery system products." Sellers will also have to get a license from the health department.
Legislation to ban e-cigarette sales to those under 18 passed the General Assembly last year, but Chafee vetoed it. He said it was written in a way to exempt e-cigarettes from the laws governing tobacco products.
Senate Majority Leader Dominick Ruggerio says getting children hooked on nicotine through e-cigarettes is no better than getting them started on regular cigarettes.
