BOSTON, Massachusetts , July 1, 2014 (press release) – Overview: GMO Renewable Resources, on behalf of its investors, has retained LandVest, Inc. as its advisor in the disposition of the Merrill-Toutle Timberlands. The timberlands are being offered as a single package and bids will be invited in a single stage, sealed bid process.

The Property: The Merrill-Toutle Timberlands consist of 2 blocks, the 5,015± acre Merrill block and the 6,493± acre Toutle block, which are located within a short distance of one another in Cowlitz County Washington. With approximately 13 MBF per net available acre, the timberlands have significant potential for near term harvest of Douglas-fir (51%) and whitewood logs (45%). Of the 9,864± net acres, 30% is net merchantable timberland over 35 years old. These merchantable timberland acres contain an average of almost 20 MBF/Acre.

Enhancing the value potential of the Douglas-fir and whitewood logs is a short haul on a solid road infrastructure from Merrill-Toutle into Longview,Washington and one of the premier export facilities in North America.

The Merrill-Toutle Tree Farm is a high quality property with a long history of excellent, professional management. It has a large merchantable timber base, coupled with positive ingrowth opportunities in the older pre-merchantable age-classes.These timberlands provide an outstanding opportunity to participate in a premier PNW log market, with value returned through short-term timber harvest and long-term forest growth.

Bidding Process: The Merrill-Toutle Timberlands sale is being managed as a single stage bid event with final, contingency-free bids due on Thursday, September 25th, 2014. Upon receipt of the enclosed confidentiality agreement, bidders will be registered for access to the project Data Room.
