LOS ANGELES , June 19, 2014 () – U.S. cereal companies are looking to target the snack, dessert and other non-breakfast markets, and are turning to unconventional advertising to promote out-of-breakfast cereal consumption, The Wall Street Journal reported June 18.

For example, Cinnamon Toast Crunch sponsored a video game conference, and Lucky Charms debuted a commercial featuring adults eating cereal during the day in street clothes rather than pajamas.
