It was announced today that the complete furniture manufacturing operation including the real estate of Southwood Furniture will be sold. The auction will include the patterns, parts, equipment, supplies, material, leather, trucks, intellectual properties and the modern 80,000 +/- sq. ft plant on nearly 10 acres.
The facility is located at 2860 Nathan Street in Newton, NC and is ready for a new owner to start the manufacturing process.
The auction will be conducted as an online only auction with extended bidding for the personal property and the real estate. The personal property auction starts to end on June 16th and 17th at 11am. The real estate will start to end on June 23rd at 2pm and will have a live ending at the Crowne Plaza of Hickory in Hickory, NC. The personal property will be sold regardless of price and the real estate will have a 24hour conformation period after the end.
Southwood furniture produced custom upholstered furniture that was sold in many of the finest stores in America. Due to other interests the owner has decided to sell all the assets of the company at auction. The firm of Iron Horse Auction Company, Inc. of Rockingham, NC has been commissioned to conduct the auction.
