ALMATY, Kazakhstan , June 3, 2014 (press release) – Kazakhstan Kagazy has received the American Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Innovation Award 2014. The Awards Ceremony was held on 31 May 2014 in the Rixos Hotel. It was attended by Kazakhstan Kagazy CEO Tomas Mateos Werner, head of paper production Talgat Azhibekov, and head of corrugated board production Almaz Ryskalov.

This highly prestigious award was granted to the company thanks to the breakthrough made in August 2013 by a group of Kagazy Recycling plant-operating engineers under the supervision of Talgat Azhibekov. After three months of preparation work they announced the start of commercial production of mottled bleached board brand BT-1, previously imported from Russia. Kazakhstan Kagazy became the first local company to produce mottled bleached board out of waste paper, thus, proving its leadership on the Kazakh paper market.

Kazakhstan Kagazy has been an active member of American Chamber of Commerce since 2013.
