The High Point Market Authority has released this year’s much anticipated Market Style Report for Spring/Summer 2014. This close to 20-page report was developed by seven home fashion trendsetters, all part of the Market’s Style Spotters team, who scoured the High Point Market for the hottest must-have items and then translated their picks into today’s top trends for the report. The Spring/Summer 2014 Market Style Report may be found at www.highpointmarket.org/resources/market-style-reports.
The Style Spotters program, launched during the October 2011 Market, features home fashion trendsetters that showcase their favorite products and top trends from Market exhibitors on Pinterest, a website that lets users organize and share photos on virtual pinboards. For Spring 2014, a whole new team of Style Spotters was chosen, led by Michelle Jennings Wiebe, a veteran of the 2013 program. When they sourced a treasure, they presented exhibitors with signs that highlighted the Style Spotter’s name with a QR code and URL for the High Point Market Pinterest board.
Style Spotter “Emeritus” and president of Studio M, Michelle Jennings Wiebe, notes in the report’s intro, “Each of these trend makers hails from a different part of North America and each has a niche design specialty, so you will get an all-encompassing view of the best styles and trends from the High Point Market.”
Their picks generated more than 1,500 re-pins, 499 likes, and lots of at-Market excitement. Nicole Gibbons had 23 pins and led the field with 214 re-pins and 54 likes. Michelle Workman uncovered the most re-pinned product, the Audrey Chair from Wesley Hall. The look that generated the most likes came from William Yeoward’s collection of historically inspired furniture heirlooms for Jonathan Charles, spotted by Gary Inman.
The full team of Style Spotters for 2014 includes:
High Point Market has received international recognition as one of the top brands using Pinterest and its Style Spotters program has received accolades from RaynForest, Hubspot, Social Media Today, Likable Media, eModeration and FrontLine. Named alongside such top-shelf brands as The Today Show, Whole Foods, Pillsbury, and Random House, the High Point Market also has been listed as a brand that creatively used Pinterest as part of its overall marketing plan.
The Style Spotter team for 2014 will work through both Markets (April and October), which affords continuity and expanded marketing possibilities for the High Point Market Authority. More information about becoming a High Point Market Style Spotter may be found at www.highpointmarket.org/featured-events/style-spotters, where you may also go online and fill out a Style Spotters form to be considered for the 2015 team.
