CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia , April 30, 2014 (press release) – Greenblue’s How2Recycle Label announced today the release of its second annual report. The report details the program’s background and development as well as progress and changes made over its lifetime. The 2013 Annual Report is available for download and includes a list of all current How2Recycle participants.

In 2013, How2Recycle grew from 12 to 23 participants, surpassing the 2013 goal of 20 companies. The report also details the program’s partnerships with the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Flexible Film Recycle Group (FFRG) and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for Wisconsin WRAP (Wrap Recycling Action Project) to increase the recycling of plastic bags, films, and wraps used for everyday consumer products. Since May, 2013, How2Recycle has offered financial sponsorships to participating companies for use of the Store Drop-off Label on eligible plastic bags, films, and wraps through a grant from the FFRG.

The annual report also includes analysis of consumer feedback obtained from the program survey at how2recycle.info. Feedback continues to show that consumers overall have a positive experience with the label. Key survey results include: 84% of consumers find the label easy to understand; 76% had positive experiences with the label; and 80% of consumers think more positively of a company for using the label.
