MISSISSAUGA, Ontario , April 29, 2014 (press release) – Coswick Hardwood is thrilled to announce the launch of the new line of specialty Sports Floors meant for use in gyms, fitness and yoga studios, indoor courts used for holding small and international sports tournaments of all kinds.

Coswick Hardwood is thrilled to announce the launch of the new line of specialty Sports Floors meant for use in gyms, fitness and yoga studios, indoor courts used for holding small and international sports tournaments of all kinds.

The new line of wood Sports Floors complies with all industry norms and requirements for sports flooring manufacturing set forth by European Standard EN14904, German DIN 18032-2, and American ASTM F2772. These standards regulate all functional characteristics, such as shock absorption, vertical deformation, coefficient of friction, gloss level, ball bounce, as well as performance characteristics – rolling load, durability, wear resistance and safety features of sports flooring.

Coswick line of Sports Floors consists of five distinct flooring products: Fitness Board®, Fitness Mosaic®, Tournament Sport®, Tournament Pro Sport® and Portable Mosaic Dance®. The floors differ by technical characteristics and intended use (i.e. floors for indoor courts for holding tournaments in team sports vs. floors for yoga studios), type of construction (permanent stationary vs. temporary portable) and surface pattern (mosaic vs. “deck”-style). Coswick Sports Floors are available in oak, ash, and Canadian maple.

Intended range of use includes most publicly used interiors:

  • Indoor sports courts used for training and holding competitions of all types, including international tournaments in team sports and ball games, such as basketball, volleyball, handball, squash etc.
  • All types of gyms and fitness centers, yoga and aerobics studios, dance halls and choreography studios.
  • Temporary floor covering solutions for holding sports-dance competitions, exhibits, presentations and other public events.
Coswick Sports Floors are available as complete custom flooring systems that include required underlayment, shock-absorbing subfloors and other stabilizing and reinforcing elements. Customization of available sports flooring systems to fit the unique requirements of individual gyms, studios or indoor courts is possible, and Coswick encourages potential buyers to contact the company to discuss their needs.

“Coswick line of Sports Floors builds on the success of our initial line of Portable Dance & Events flooring,” said Vladimir Ianovski, founder of Coswick Hardwood. “The line debuted at the WDSF European DanceSport Competition in Latin Dance. The event took place in Krasnodar, Russia, in April 2013, and 600 square meters of our portable sports floors were selected as the floor covering for the entire event. Our floors demonstrated exceptional performance and durability, as well as simplicity and speed of assemblage – they took less than 4 hours to install.”
