Amount of coffee grown on Rainforest Alliance-certified farms rises 20% in 2013, making up record 5.2% of global bean output

LOS ANGELES , April 25, 2014 () – The Rainforest Alliance said the amount of coffee grown on its certified farms rose by 20% in 2013, making up a record 5.2% of global bean output, Thomson Reuters Corp. reported April 25.

Last year, 454,962 million tonnes, or 1 billion lbs., of the world's coffee was grown on Rainforest Alliance-certified farms.
