Brecon Carreg, the most popular mineral water in Wales has recently launched a new environmentally friendly, lighter weight bottle design for its smaller formats of pure and natural still water. The innovative new shape uses up to 24% less plastic per bottle which overall reduces Brecon Carreg's carbon footprint by a remarkable 450 tonnes a year.
The lightweighting has been reached without compromising the product quality in any way. In fact, because the lighter bottles are more ergonomically designed they are now easier to grip and carry around.
The new bottle shape is unique to Brecon Carreg and is available in a 500ml flat cap size, plus 500ml & 700ml sizes with new, improved sports caps, which enable easier portability and drinking when on the go.
The Company's General Manager, Franck Lecomte said: "We're proud that Brecon Carreg still maintains the original values on which it was founded as a true cottage industry in 1978. Sustainability has always been central to our approach and we understand that it is our responsibility to protect the environment that produces our high quality mineral water. This project is a real achievement for our small but dedicated team and huge credit must go to them for their persistence in making this possible."
To launch their new sustainable bottles range Brecon Carreg and its 29 employees held an open day at their beautiful cottage headquarters in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. The launch was a huge success and was attended by the First Minister for Wales, Mr. Carwyn Jones, who praised Brecon Carreg for their commitment to the environment.
This recent eco friendly bottle launch for Brecon Carreg is a further boost for the company's already impressive natural credentials.
