HOBOKEN, New Jersey , April 4, 2014 () – Association of Postconsumer Plastic Recyclers (APR), a trade group based in Washington, US, is refuting a report published by European Bioplastics, a trade group that represents the bioplastics industry. The study released in Jan 2014 claimed that the recycling stream can handle up to 10% compostable plastics and show no or negligible impact on the mechanical performance of post-consumer plastics. The APR believes the study released by European Bioplastics is incomplete because the data generated by the study is insufficient to support the claim.
