United States Patent no. 8,683,951, issued on April 1.
"Insect resistant pet food vessel" was invented by Gregory David Linke (Gawler East, Australia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pet food bowl having an internal food dish surrounded by a reservoir adapted to hold a liquid therein and an overlying shroud extending over the reservoir and spaced from an outer wall of said reservoir, wherein said the shroud includes a face extending over a reservoir surface and outermost skirt extending around and spaced from an outermost reservoir wall."
The patent was filed on Sept. 23, 2009, under Application No. 13/132,982.
