LOS ANGELES , March 6, 2014 () – The 2015 Canadian Home Furnishings Market, originally to be held Saturday through Tuesday Jan. 10-13, has been changed to Thursday through Sunday June 4-7, Furniture Today reported on March 6.

The event is Canada’s seventh largest trade show and the only national furnishings trade event. The show has always been held in January, but was facing declining attendance.

After consulting with stakeholders and surveying retailers, planners found that, although retailers wanted to attend the show, a primary complaint was the severe winter weather in Toronto. A show in the summer is expected to ease travel and make the event more attractive to exhibitors and attendees.

Additionally, a change of date prevents the show from interfering with the 2015 Las Vegas Market, which will take place Jan. 18 to 22.
