ST. PAUL, Minnesota , February 14, 2014 (press release) – CHS Inc. (NASDAQ: CHSCP and CHSCO), the nation's leading farmer-owned cooperative and a global energy, grains and foods company, announced today it has named Adam Holton senior vice president, Human Resources, effective March 3, 2014.

Holton will report to Shirley Cunningham, executive vice president, Enterprise Strategy.

Holton joins CHS from GE Healthcare, Waukesha, Wis., where most recently he served as a senior human resources executive, leading human resource functions for GE Global Services, a GE business with 11,000 employees and annual revenue of more than $5 billion. Holton has held a wide range of human resource leadership roles within GE Healthcare over the past decade, including leading global human resource teams in seven different regions, designing and delivering strategies to support service productivity, consistent performance and growth. He was also responsible for talent and organizational development and design.

Earlier in his GE career, Holton led process improvement in service, sales and marketing as a Six Sigma Black Belt for GE Medical Systems and served as program manager of corporate leadership and development at the Leadership Development Center in Crotonville, N.Y.

Holton also spent time at Bank One/JP Morgan Chase, where he managed executive education and was a human resources business partner for the real estate business in the commercial bank.

Holton earned a bachelor's of science degree in political science from the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. After graduation, he served for six years in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer, spending three years at Camp Pendleton, Calif., and three years at Quantico, Va. In 2004-2005, he led a reserve unit that deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
