SANTA ANA, California , February 10, 2014 (press release) – Kush Bottles, North America's largest wholesale distributor of child-resistant packaging for the marijuana industry, stated that their Philips Rx pop top bottles are on the official list of Colorado approved child-resistant packaging.

Due to the fact that many distributors of marijuana packaging have claimed their bottles are child-safe, but the containers have not passed an independent testing procedure in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines, Colorado's Marijuana Enforcement Division has issued a new memo to all dispensary operators, with a list of approved packaging.

The memo states, "All Retail Marijuana, Retail Marijuana Concentrate, Retail Marijuana Product, Medical Marijuana and Medical Marijuana Concentrate must be sold in special packaging that is Child-Resistant as defined in Rules R 103 and M 103. These standards require specific testing to be conducted on the packaging to ensure that it is sufficiently difficult for children to open."

In order to assure compliance, the Division sent dispensary operators a link to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission's website, which has a list of containers that have been tested and meet the standards for child-resistance.

The CPSC website confirms that Kush Bottles Philips Rx vials have passed all requirements for child-resistant packaging and are approved for use in Colorado.

Philips Rx containers are available exclusively from Kush Bottles. They are manufactured in the USA with FDA-approved materials, and come in a variety of sizes and colors.

"Our Philips Rx bottles have been enormously popular with Colorado dispensary operators who are looking for an approved child-resistant container, along with excellent customer service," said Nicholas Kovacevich, COO of Kush Bottles. "We have increased the manufacturing schedule of our child-resistant bottles to have a steady supply in stock to fill all orders placed."
