MasterBrand Cabinets Inc. is requesting tax abatements for plans to expand its operations in Dubois County, Indiana, Inside INdiana Business reported on Jan. 21.
MasterBrand, headquartered in Jasper, Indiana, is a home cabinetry manufacturer with distributors across the U.S., according to the company’s website. The company is a division of Deerfield, Illinois-based Fortune Brands Home & Security.
It plans to invest US$1 million in new equipment at its Ferdinand site in Dubois County, according to various media reports, which noted the expansion will generate 135 new jobs within the year.
The Ferdinand Town Council will schedule a public meeting on the request that will be held within the next few weeks.
In March last year, MasterBrand announced plans to invest almost $575,000 to expand its Goshen, Indiana, operations and hire an additional 76 employees, according to Inside INdiana Business.
MasterBrand currently has a workforce of 2,800 at its six Indiana locations.
