January 14, 2014
– Only a few seats remain for the TAPPI Improving Paper Machine Performance Course taking place January 28-30, 2014 at TAPPI's Training Facility near Atlanta, Georgia. This course is designed to equip participants with the tools they need to evaluate and benchmark the performance of paper machines against industry standards. It features an outstanding group of instructors and a comprehensive three-day curriculum covering all key areas of paper machine operations.
"We collaborated with our skills in the design of this specialized curriculum to deliver the best of our paper machine experience," said Course Chair, Jim Atkins. "I will lead participants through a real mill improvement project to demonstrate how they can do the same thing in their own mills. Dick Reese will show attendees how to make big savings in energy costs by correcting problems which often require little or no capital expenditures. Chuck Klass will illustrate how to evaluate size press and coating operations and Ken Hill will deliver the tools needed to evaluate and benchmark dryer systems to correct problems and dry more paper."
This advanced-level course is developed for process engineers and mid- to upper-level manufacturing managers involved in the operation of paper machines. By learning measurements and PM auditing, participants will be able to determine the best course of action for improving performance and optimizing the efficiency of paper machine operations.
The course is taught by four of TAPPI's most experienced and distinguished instructors and TAPPI Fellows: James W. Atkins, Charles P. Klass, Dick Reese and Kenneth C. Hill.
