Illinois-based Contract Packaging Assn. names John Mazelin as executive director

The Contract Packaging Association (CPA) Board of Directors has selected John Mazelin as Executive Director of the Association, effective January 1, 2014.
As Executive Director, Mr. Mazelin will oversee the day-to-day operations of the association.
“John’s primary focus will be to continue to increase the value proposition of membership for aggressive growth and longevity of our members,” said CPA President Chris Nutley in announcing Mr. Mazelin’s appointment. “John’s contract packaging experience and expertise make him an ideal candidate for the position. I am extremely excited to add his focused horsepower to our efforts.”
Mr. Mazelin is currently Vice President-Business Development for The B4B Alliance. Headquartered in Louisville, KY, his responsibilities include overseeing business development across the Alliance, which includes Accu-tec, Inc., a contract packager; Mercury Logistics of Kentucky, a 3PL provider; and Shippers Supply Co, a supplier of packaging materials.
Mr. Mazelin has degrees from Indiana University and the University of Evansville. He began his packaging career with Inland Container Corporation (now part of International Paper) in sales and sales management. His experience includes interaction with consumer packaged goods companies and tier 1 and tier 2 automotive companies. He has over 15 years of experience in the contract packaging industry and has served on CPA’s Board of Directors since 1997.
