Rengo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka; President & CEO: Kiyoshi Otsubo) announces that its wholly owned subsidiary Settsu Carton Corporation (Head Office: Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, President: Toshio Niwa) has established Settsu Carton Vietnam Corporation, an 80% financed corrugated box manufacturing company, in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam.
Long Duc Industrial Park is located approximately 40 km south-east of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, a country where further expansion by Japanese companies is expected in the future. Corrugated box business will be conducted to meet the need for high quality packaging materials of companies advancing into the area, with the construction of a plant to begin swiftly in the near future and operations scheduled to begin from around October 2014.
The corrugated packaging business in South-East Asian countries, including Vietnam, has an important strategic position for the overseas business of the Rengo Group, which defines itself as a “General Packaging Industry,” and aims to further expand its operations globally. Rengo will continue to enhance its supply system for packaging materials based mainly on corrugated packaging.
