WIPO publishes P&G patent for 'menstrual pant'

Title of the invention: "MENSTRUAL PANT."
Applicants: THE PROCTER & GAMBLE COMPANY (US).
Inventors: Brian Francis Gray (US), Brett Darren Seitz (US), Andres Ernesto Velarde (US) and Bruce William Lavash (US).
According to the abstract* posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization: "A system including a menstrual pant and an absorbent article. The menstrual pant has a front part; a back part; a crotch part provided so as to bridge between the front part and the back part, the crotch being utilized for fitting a sanitary napkin; a waist opening part provided in an upper edge of the front part and an upper edge of the back part; a pair of leg openings provided below both side edges of the front part and both side edges of the back part; and a lifting strip disposed along the longitudinal centerline in the rear portion. The menstrual pant apply body-contacting pressures to the wearer's body longitudinally through the crotch of 25 g/cm2 to 100 g/cm2. The absorbent article has a topsheet having a body facing surface; a backsheet joined to said topsheet; and an absorbent core disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet. The absorbent article exhibits a 30-minute Vertical Wicking Height of at least about 12 cm."
