The Wood Processors Association of NZ (WPA) and the NZ Pine Manufacturers Association (PMA) are pleased to announce the signing on Tuesday 20th August of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to work collaboratively, with the intent of creating one association representing all major wood processors and manufacturers in New Zealand no later than 1st July 2014.
Brian Stanley, Chairman of WPA commented “that in the interim staff will work as one Executive Team on priorities set out in the joint 2013/14 Business Plan and that this amalgamation could be viewed as a first step towards bringing the entire New Zealand wood processing and manufacturing representative organisations together as one body”.
Tom Boon, President of PMA said “this amalgamation would be a very good move by the wood products and manufacturing sector, as it would create a much bigger and stronger organisation that will be able to advocate effectively on behalf of its membership”.
